From the recording Home at Last

"Straight From the Heart" is a song I wrote about how "God so loved the world that he gave His one and only Son" and how God the Son, Jesus Christ, displayed that love through His painful, loving sacrifice on the cross, followed by His glorious, supernatural resurrection from the dead, and ascension into heaven.

God still loves every one of you listening to this song and invites you to believe, trust, and rely on Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins, the salvation of your soul, and the promise of eternal life.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that everyone who believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son." (John 3:16-18)

PS - I wrote this song many years ago, and it is still one of my personal favorites. My son JJ and I recorded and released this version of the song in 2012. He was 17 when he produced the song and played all the electric and bass guitars. We pray it is a blessing to you. Gloria a Dios!

Lyrics

A love letter from a distant world was nailed upon a tree.
Marked with man’s rejection posted high for all the world to see.

CHORUS
Straight from the heart, He loves you.
Straight from the heart, He cares for you.
Straight from the heart, He died for you.
Straight from the heart.

They embedded the stripes on His back with strokes of anger and rage.
Over hatred He stamped forgiveness then He turned the page. Where He wrote..

SECOND CHORUS
Straight from the heart, I loves you.
Straight from the heart, I care for you.
Straight from the heart, I died for you.
Straight from the heart.

BRIDGE
Open up your heart and believe in Him.
Let Him call you friend.
You won’t be disappointed no.
When your new life, when your new life, begins.

In the solace of the garden tomb the world’s redemption lay
The power of death and hell were broken when the stone was rolled away.
