What is a Step of Faith?

THINK ABOUT IT - What is a Step of Faith?

We hear the term "Step of Faith" all the time in Christian circles, but what truly is a "step of faith"? Here is my definition! A step of faith is a step we take into the will of God, in order to accomplish God's purposes and plans. We take those "steps of faith" trusting God to meet the needs he has asked us to meet without having the resources available at the time He gives the command. As we live our lives taking steps of faith eventually we can truly say as Paul did, that "We walk by faith and not by sight." 2 Corinthians 5:7.

To accomplish God's will we must take steps of faith, otherwise, we are only accomplishing what is humanly possible and not what is supernaturally possible by God's power, grace and provision. Also please keep in mind that steps of faith are always most meaningful when they are taken in order to meet the needs of others and not our own.

The problem is many focus their "steps of faith" on bettering their own lives instead of those who are really in need of help and of God's help. There are hundreds of millions that need us to believe God on their behalf, to help get them the Word of God and to help in practical ways as well. Especially those living on the unreached mission fields of the world like in the 10/40 window.

When this world is over God will not be impressed with those who would like to say "God I believed you for that really fine luxury car or that beautiful piece of jewelry, or that mega house, or that yacht or that ___________ (fill in the box).

God is blessed when we take steps of faith to reach those Jesus came and died for. We can all do it by God's grace and power. Remember these words from Zechariah 4:6 "Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts." And the words of Paul the Apostle in Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." I can, you can, we can and we must! There is a lot at stake!

Take a "Step of Faith" today not for you but for someone else. God is in the business of meeting needs and is especially pleased when we ask Him to use us, to meet the needs of others!

God is going to meet your needs as you walk by faith, that is a no brainer! Paul reminded us of that in Philippians 4:19 "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus." Take a step of faith today and doubt will flee away as you see God step into situations all around you with His heavenly responses. Think about it!
