Followers of Jesus, we live in a day where far too many are abandoning the ship of pure gospel truth. These people listen to preachers who pollute the well of God's absolute truth with the deceptive lukewarm water of heretical teaching. They seek to be too culturally relevant and in doing so, have become less relevant to God and His Kingdom.
These preachers and their disciples appeal to people's senses and feelings. Instead, they should be steering a straight course into the perfect will of God by rightly dividing and teaching God's Word.
Here, I want to say that I praise God for the preachers who still teach God's pure truths with hearts of sincerity, honesty, and integrity. They are well worth listening to and will continually inspire us in the right direction.
God expects His people to read His Word, and follow, teach and obey it. He expects His people to think clearly, and let their minds be washed clean and clear by reading and meditating on His Word, which in turn helps the Holy Spirit do His work in us, leading us into all truth.
"However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come." ( John 16:13)
God's people can't fall prey to being so feeling-oriented. Feelings can be very deceptive and can change overnight and be manipulated easily by cunning preachers. So let's take the Apostle Paul's admonition to Timothy seriously and "Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)
So right now, if you haven't already read His Word today, shut this Facebook app and pick up your Bible or open your Bible app. Then, God will fill your heart with Heavenly manna as you read, which will make you much more potent in your faith and fill your heart with His peace, His vision, and His purpose. Amen!
