As It Was In The Days of Noah!

In this statement in Matthew 24:37, Jesus describes briefly what the world will be like when He returns. It will mirror the days of Noah. Remember Noah? He was that great preacher of righteousness who warned people of the impending judgment to come because of their rebellion against God and His laws.

Unfortunately, the people never heeded Noah’s warnings, but he preached them anyways, year after year while the ark was being built.

Noah obeyed God’s command and warned people over and over to save themselves from the impending judgment. He urged them to repent of their sins and enter the ark of God’s safety, which would save them from the flood. Unfortunately, no one listened. Why? They had accepted what was wrong as right. They rejected God and His ways for their own gods and their own ways. Noah was no more than a nuisance to them!

Noah was preaching to the ultimate party animals obsessed with eating, drinking, and indulging in every evil sin. The people of his day totally disregarded the laws of God, and instead opted to “enjoy” their season of sin and pleasure. At the right time, God stepped in and did what Noah warned God would do, bring judgment on the earth. That judgment came in the form of The Flood. You know the rest of the story!

It seems to me today’s society is headed in the same direction. More and more people easily embrace the sins of the days of Noah. Those sins stemmed from their rejection of God’s commands and laws. Which stemmed from their lack of respect and honor of God Himself. Sin and evil always spread fast where there is no honor of God.

God warns people today through His ambassadors to repent from what the Bible calls sin. He calls us to enter the ark of God’s safety through Jesus Christ who died on the cross to pay the penalty of our sins.

Today, if you are living in sin apart from Jesus Christ, today is the day of salvation. Come humbly before God, repent, and ask for His divine mercy. He loves you and has a better way for you!

If you are a believer but living in deliberate sin, scoffing at God’s commands, repent, and ask God for mercy. Don’t despise His grace and spit in the face of God’s love and mercy. Follow Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord. If not, in His love He will send His discipline to call you back to Him, and His ways. Why? Because He loves you and wants to bring you into a life of true freedom and liberty which comes as we walk closely with the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen!
