Followers of Jesus Christ, are we running the race with hearts overflowing with faith, courage, and determination? Or are we crawling through life trying to merely hold on to one or two of God’s promises in difficult times?
God has called us and empowered us by the Holy Spirit to be “more than conquerors” in Christ Jesus, and that is who we must be.
God has called us to run the spiritual race as those who triumph in Christ Jesus. It’s time for every believer to run with faith-filled perseverance into the center of God’s will as described in His Word, the Bible.
Hebrews 12:1-2 describes the kind of Christian that runs on and into the grand plan God has for His people. They are determined to be salt and light in darkening times.
They bow their knees to Jesus Christ and submit to the truth written in His Word.
They know there is a great cloud of witnesses cheering them on in the heavenly places and are inspired by those who forsook the world to embrace the cross and their Lord Jesus Christ.
They run the race to win and forbid themselves from lagging behind or getting off course.
They know Jesus Christ as not only the author of their faith but the finisher too!
They live with their eyes focused on their God and His ways and long to hear Him say, “well done, good and faithful servant.”
That should describe every follower of Jesus Christ, and if it doesn’t, let’s get right with God, get off the sidelines, and start running the race to win again. Amen!
